Here is Your Person Weekly

I love taking photos! Even if I don't have a "professional like" one (hint hint dad ;D... :( never happening) I also like photo editing. Ever since you had to pay $4 monthly for PicMonkey (favorite photo editing site) my life turned shades darker. Why?! Just WHY?! People are way to greedy these days. Sharing is caring... Anyways, this picture was photo edited a while back. Enjoy your Person magazine cover!

Happy BOA Day!

In science research class, we've been building this truss with manilla folders and finally finished it! First, bridge in the class to be completed! Each "member"or parts of the bridge are a tube we had to measure, cut, and glue together. If you don't know, BOA stands for Bridge of Awesomeness (I just figured that out today!!) thanks to Melissa :D on the far right. Maria is in the middle. If you tilt your computer screen upwards or slouch a little in your seat you might be able to see her. She's really white. Melissa was our tester or support for the bridge. I was the refiner for messy parts. And Maria was the EVERYTHING ELSE. Still, together we made it happen and got a 9.5 (maybe 9.7 if the rest of the bridges in the class are terrible) as our build grade. Good work gals!

Traveling

Over the summer a lot of you know that my family and I went to Asia. There, we stopped at China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Cambodia. I guess I would just like to share a bit more about my trip because it was a wild one! During my trip I learned that beyond America, there are people who live a completely different life than we do. It still amazes me how many people are on this earth and how similar we are in a lot of ways. So let's take a blast from the past (see what I just did ;) and allow me to take you through my twisted adventure.

China was ... different and that is all I'm going to say. Just kidding. My parents signed up for one of China's many tourist walkthroughs where for one week, you spend each day visiting tourist attractions. It was really cheap plus they said that every night we would stay at five star hotels. Hmm... fishy. However, my family has never been to China, and we can't stay "Chinese people who have never been to China" all our lives! Our plane ride was China Eastern for around sixteen hours or so. The plane ride was same as the tourist experience... horrible yet affordable. The plane was packed with jumpy passengers and a lot of kids! At first it was okay but after a while it got really stuffy. Especially with our three hour delay in the plane. Shanghai was currently experiencing a storm so we flew down to a near by airport station. I was taking a nap and was so excited when I work up because I thought we landed in Shanghai. Big mistake. For three hours we were cooped up in the plane with "reduced" air conditioner (gas purposes I'm guessing??) Surrounding me were kids running up and down the aisles while smelly the heavy air of puke (my worst fear.) Since the plane was pretty much lawless, my dad, sister, and I went to the back of the plane where the flight attendants were chilling. Still, it was the space of a closet. Not to mention my mom was getting really sick and too up our whole row lying down. We tried our best to remain calm and know that God is with us. It was really bad so I took a nap and constantly woke up waiting for us to take off again.
Eventually, we landed in Shanghai and ran straight out of the plane into a bus with several people standing in it. I was thinking "this is sooo ghetto." Finally we arrived at the air port station only to wait a couple more hours for our luggage. My family and I raced to find our tour guide at 1:00am in the morning. It turns out he was just about to leave to find no one else was coming. Thank God!! Another 45min. passed and we finally reached our hotel. It was very nice and the food was really good. But note that that was only the first night. Some nights we stayed in a cheesy hotel that smelled like smoke in the lobbies. Every night I remember constantly looking for wifi anywhere possible.
Going to a foreign country especially like China takes a toll on your body. Every single day I felt nauseous and my stomach felt numb. I was breaking out into pimples all over my for head and only felt relaxed after a nice shower. Jet lag was not even the worst of our problems. We met some really nice people at the tour and brought some to our church after we came back. If I were to sum up that whole trip I would give it one word: wild.

Taiwan was our breather. In the comfort of my mom's uncle and aunt's home we got to sleep all day and relax. Which is something we never did in what seems like to be forever. There we spent two weeks shopping our socks off and playing with my uncle's lazy dog. I love Taiwan and would never forget how clean their subways are. Or how nice the people act even though you are a stranger. Or the funny looks I got when I tried speaking Chinese or spoke regular English. Everything there was comforting and really cute. I want to go back someday and take it all in again without China draining my energy out before hand.
To think of it now is different than actually being there. Now, I feel like Taiwan was perfect. Of course  would think that after my mom has been brain washing me about it almost all my life. But it really was heaven after China. Shortly after, it was time to head off to Thailand.

Thailand has one of the most largest airport station ever. It had really cool escalators that ... wait for it... were flat and inclined. It's a lot cooler when you are actually on it. There we met the missionary and his son on a three hour car ride to Cambodia. Of course we had to stop at 7 eleven for some Thai ice tea which my brother later on barfed the whole way back to the airport. When we finally got to Cambodia we passed through the large buildings of casinos and then passed through the rest of the where the people lived. Imagine one long dirt road branching off to longer mud roads. That was basically it. The trip wasn't as strenuous as an actual missions trip. Like I said, we traveled before Cambodia.
Meeting new people and seeing first hand on how they lived couldn't have been more of a reality check for me. These people actually live here every day working while I claim I am suffering from school. What? It really shocked me on how poorly our world's money is dispersed. Think about all the doggy day spa's and animal rescue sights there are when on the other side of the planet there are people living on dirt. It's just not right. Not to mention, these people can still manage to smile :) Although, ever day you don't feel clean at all its easy to let loose and get a little roughed up. They only time you are clean is when you are sleeping. By the end of the trip we were just about ready to go back to Taiwan but they were currently experiencing stormy weather. We had to stay one more day in Bangkok until we could spend two more days in Taiwan. We stopped by 7 eleven again and guess who decided to drink a huge cup of Thai iced tea?? On the drive back to the airport station Andrew threw up all the way. Chubster and I were like... eeeeeeeeew!

So now you got an official taste of what our adventurous summer was. If you read to whole thing, good for you! If you tried reading the whole thing in one day and didn't, it's alright! I took several days just writing this thing. If you didn't read it at all, I have nothing to say to you because you aren't reading this. Have a nice week and become a member. Becoming a member just means you are a supporter. It's not going to send you spam mail or any kind of that junk :) basically it's harmless.

Christmas Review

P.s I don't know these people
Many years after years I've noticed that Christmas has been getting less and less exciting. This my friends was one of the saddest things we just have to face. Do you know what I'm saying? For example, the smell of oak trees, the flurries of snow, and the pretty lights outside would just switch your mood into something cheerful. Almost as if Christmas was a fantasy. When you get my age you come to a realization that ... that... dare I say it it's NOT. On Dec. 31, 2012 we had some kids over as a little casual get together to eat japanese sushi (yum!). On Dec. 31 2005 we had some kids over waiting anxiously for 12:00am. struggling to keep our eyes open. See the difference? Casual versus fun, exciting, and history making! When someone (akhem) told me that presents get worse and worse every year my heart snapped like a ginger bread cookie. But face it, we all know it is true.
What if there was a purpose for this! As you get older Christmas gets duller because... we must know that true meaning of Christmas! Trust me we all heard of it before so I am not repeating it again. One thing I learned was the birth of Jesus was selfless in every way. Why should a king begin a life born in a stable with animals? My thoughts are as tangled as chlorine on thin long hair. Why am I using so many simile's? Anyways, I will leave my thoughts hanging like a unfinished song...

How to Curl Hair

Here is a helpful video for you girls (and some guys) out there. In this video you will learn how to curl your hair. There are a lot of different types of curls such as crimps, waves, and afros! Hopefully you can find out which one suits you the most and put it to action. Excuse Chubster's attempt to look sporty with her soccer jersey. Truth is, it was only $5 at Thailand and a really good knock off. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this long video (the longest video I ever published). Have a laugh, get some knowledge, and have a nice day!

Nail Polish Review

Thanks for supporting me and finally reaching 3000 pageviews!

Essie nail polish is one of my favorites! A lot of times nail polishes become gooey and streaky as they get older. This nail polish's thickness is thin but perfectly opaque even after a long period of time. Essie also has a wide variety of beautiful colors and dries pretty quickly. Furthermore, Essie has a lot of nourishing nail polishes and matte top coats. However, Essie comes with a cost. Unlike most nail polishes, new colors from Essie can be around $7- $8. If you are up to paying that price for a bottle might as well. But if you can't, there are more options out there.

Sally Hansen can be your next choice. This runner up is known for its different types of nail polishes. For example, Sally Hansen sells Insta Dry, Salon Effect, HD, Nail Art Pens and a lot more. This nail polish comes with nice colors with mediocre quality. Sally Hansen generally goes on sale at drug stores for around $5- $8 a bottle. This affordable choice is good for first timers but if you want more of a luxury look at a different section.

OPI would be for ones who like their nails more professional. I was immediately impressed with the wide selection of colors and quick dry time.  The quality of this product is around the same if not a little less than Essie but comes with more in its bottle. Charging at $6- $9 this nail polish is an eye popping color pick. OPI is known for it's theme locations and flamboyant advertisements. It also has Matte Nail Polish, Crackle, and famous celebrity sponsors. This nail product is flashy, bold, and red carpet ready.

What We ate Today

One day when my parents were gone, we wanted to show them that we can provide a meal on our own. Originally I wanted to show this to my parents, which I did, but I'll show it to you guys too. I made this video sometime around when my family and I came back from Asia. On imovie, I learned some really neat tricks you'll be seeing in this video that is a little different than before. I hope you enjoy watching this and I hope it inspires you to go to your kitchen and fetch something to eat.

How to Braid

This is for all of you who don't know how to braid. I realized that my previous videos were too advanced for some. So I'm going to start from scratch and teach you all how to braid.

Dear Kitty,

 Dear Nermal,

From the left: Rusty, Cobs, Nermal, and poor Contrast
You were the second Cambodian kitty I loved (next to Cobs.) I miss you so much. Although we only met for an hour or two, it feels like we've known each other for forever. I really miss pulling you away from your kitty friends so you and I could hang out. I loved when Jonathan, Chubster, and I took you and your siblings for a walk to look at some ducks. I love your green eyes and tender heart <3 You are probably a big kitty now... learning how to survive or having feelings for other cats.Wherever you are stay close to the ones you love especially that adorable little girl that takes care of you. Don't venture out too far. It is dangerous at night. Always walk with a buddy like Mom, Cobs, Rusty, or Contrast. I really miss you but it is highly unlikely I will see you again. We live in a big world Nermal, and things aren't always la-la loopsy here. But as long as you are safe with your family I am happy. Write back soon or at least purr your loudest. You were always a squealer. Sorry if I held you too tight in Cambodia. Or put you momentarily on a tree filled with red ants. I know you would've forgiven me. Stay close to Mama and the little girl too.

Freaky Friday

Did you ever have that feeling of panic before? I'm sure you have but this type of panic is different. This type of panic is when you are scared for your life. Well, not really your life but your mind makes you feel that way. Still don't get it? For example, when there is a big hurricane everybody is talking about and you have to evacuate your location. Or when you are going to a foreign country and something goes wrong. It's times like these where you just say a quick prayer that goes something like "God please keep me safe! There is so much I want to do in life! I thought you had more plans for me!"
This Friday I heard many people talking about a fight coming from another school to our school. I freaked out. There were a lot of school safety patrol people everywhere and people were talking like "Bye! I'll see you Monday... hopefully...."

Before I proceed I must tell you that my mind prepares me for the definite worst. Even though it wasn't that bad, I was scared as heck that day.

Seriously everything just got me so scared I didn't even want to leave my classroom to go and "release the elements" even though I had to so badly. In biology, I couldn't even focus on the most easiest lesson in the world (food chains!) While I was going to biology however, my friend told me that she knew someone who said some of the kids were actually in the school already! Every time the door opened in my classroom I would check to see who it is. I was that scared okay?! I heard people talking about coming out of the school building and seeing people waiting to beat you up.  I already planned the way I would run to my dad's car. I was even disappointed in how I wasn't wearing my running shoes.
Fast forward and I'm at home typing this post while just finishing a chicken noodle soup. I got to say, I really scared myself! But seriously some seniors were scared. I just hope something like this doesn't happen again or else I will make myself faint. Hopefully, next time this happens I would stay calm (yeah right.) At the end, I heard nothing really ever happened. Those are the type of moments that I overreact to. I pray that I don't under react to an actual serious situation (yikes!) I am just happy that everyone is safe and that it is Friday :)

Floral Nails

My voice is very nasal and I may change pitches once in a while. IT'S NATURAL WHEN YOU'RE  SICK :D I actually filmed this a while back but edited it during the Thanksgiving break. Also, you may have noticed, I didn't do my right hand. I have an excuse. It was close to dinner time and my dad hates the smell :) If you didn't get the musical ensamble thing, I like making music (with the pre played ones) on garage band and adding them in my videos. I would describe it has classical contemporary but I'll leave it up to you upon how you would describe it. Anyways, I ended test prep like I said before. I'm also starting to get situated in my school. The science teacher I used to have was a pain in my beep so my parents and I had to go through a lot with her. Detail, details, details. Eventually, I switched classes in which the students aren't all the brightest (compared to my other class for smarties.) "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Matthew 5:44. So even though she is a pain, I pray she will seek God one day :)
The new teacher actually cares for the students and wants to help them do better.  I'm happy God provided me with parents that will stick up for me even though I may have done wrong. I can't handle drama from people like her on my own. My motto currently is "everything is part of His plan." Every class I am in, every person I meet, and even every conflict I come across. Talk about rambling! Sorry about that. I hope you enjoyed the video though! Love ya!

Faux Splatter Nails

Here is your Thanksgiving Gift! Enjoy!

Hang in There!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posting since November 9 (I've been told) but I promise you I'll make it up to you guys. I just finished a long test prep session and battle with my biology teacher (I'll tell you about that later). That pretty much sucked the whole fun out of my October. But after the flood, out came a rainbow. Right? You should be expecting some awesome new videos and touching posts during Thanksgiving break. Thanks for the support my peeps!
