Trick for Two
Ahh... gymnastics. I have so many mixed feelings about it. I think I'm pretty good at it and would do well if I tried but ever since I heard it stunts your growth, I stopped. But I love it and it is so fun to know what your body could do but, I don't like being in a bridge kickover, backwalkover, or handstand for too long. I also don't like beam :P Other than that I think it is sooooo fun but I finalized that I'm only going to improve on the basic things and flexibility because I can actually use that in dance. So I have concluded that gymnastics as a sport is not for me, but gymnastics as a hobby sounds just about right :D
Central Park Ballet
there is my teacher to the far left
|
A thing I haven't posted yet was my love for dance! Ever since I was 4 years old I took dance lessons from the same teacher. At first I loved it well... I was 4. But in elementary school I started to hate it. I had classes after school on Friday so I wanted to watch Lilo and Stitch but instead I had to go to ballet class :( During middle school I started to love it again because it is nice to express your dance in movement. Although there isn't a lot of the acrobatic/gymnastic stuff that I like, it is just as good. In some dances we do do gymnastic stuff so YAY. So yeah, this is a picture from Central Park the Bethesda Garden. This dance is called the "Three Graces" by Isodora Duncan. My teacher likes a lot of Duncan pieces because it is more of how you dance it than the actual choreography. Thats me to the right, Tess in the middle, and Anastasia to the left. All of us took dance at a really young age so we are now the "big girls" of the dance school along with a few others. Unfortunately I have to pick between ballet and track unless I could do them both while getting good grades at school. Huff! Schoooooooooool >:(
Bar Code Nails/Jail Nails
By popular request (heehee) here are Bar Code Nails. They are easy with a skinny black brush and look pretty cool. These are Chubster's nails so it might be harder to do on your own :( but it's pretty self explanatory. You can print out reference if you need to but it is simply just different widths of black lines. It looks pretty busy but it is a fun design. Enjoy!

Never to be Forgotten
It has now been around a 2 weeks and a half since I came back from Poipet, Cambodia (okay what is really sad is that blogspot doesn't recognize "Poipet" as an actual word :O) Anyways, where was I... oh right! Around 2 weeks or so since I've been in Cambodia and I find myself always thinking about them. Usually, once I meet knew people in a new country I fly back to my normal life and forget about them but, it's different this time. Every single day I would come across a thought about them. It's really hard to explain but I think I developed a certain compassion for people around me. It's like God planted this experience in my heart so I could remember it everyday.
The most sweetest people, children, even babies I've ever met. Through their struggle of poverty, government, and education these people can still manage to smile at you. China for instance is a huge country with a lot of people. I would have to say, that the majority of China's people are not satisfied with their economic status. The "not so rich" people have to work very hard every day to earn a living. So, when we came for the tour, the people would be really rude and look at us like "rich American" that have money to travel to different places. (Sooo sorry if you're from China D:) But what I'm trying to say is that the people of Cambodia and China are in a way similar but, very different. The people of Cambodia would accept their lifestyle as it is and still have a heart for others (at least the ones that I met). The people of China accept their lifestyle but compare it to others and in anger, be rude to them. Again, so sorry. To make it up, China has really good hotels! Did that fix it?
I'm really happy I got to travel this year out of the country. It's really different when you see how others live. It really is! People of different classes, race, and culture really open up your mind to the things that aren't only from America.

The Bow
You've might have seen this before but, anyways this is a bow as you can see. It is sort of easy if you have good bobby pins and longish hair. Personally I wouldn't where this to school because it is a bit time consuming for me but, to a special event I would :) So if you want a brief tutorial, you know where to go (comment box).

Newspaper Nails
Introducing newspaper nails. They are sooo cute and easy! These are my friend's nails but I did them on mine and they are just as simple. It takes a little while to fully master but, it is definitely possible so here are the instructions.
Materials
- Light colored base coat
- Clear top coat
- Newspaper
- Rubbing alcohol
- Small cup
Firstly.... Apply the bottom base coat and wait until fully dry
2. Dip a small piece of newspaper in the cup filled with rubbing alcohol
3. Put the newspaper on your nail but not too hard. Like a tattoo! The kid kind.
4. Leave it on while applying some more alcohol on top with a cotton ball. Keep it there for around 20 seconds. Also, make sure that the whole nail is equally bold. So, tap the newspaper on your nail.
5. Carefully peel it off and there you have it. Newspaper on your nail
6. A top coat is always necessary to give it a finished shine ;D
Super Easy Roll Up
This hair style is soo easy to do and takes around 5-10 minutes. Honestly pretty hair takes some time! If you want me to put up a tutorial, comment on this post. This hairstyle is casual but elegant and is great for yoga or stretching. It uses some bobby pins as you can see but the hair style is sturdy that way. You might be wondering how does she do it? I'll let you in on a secret: head band. This hairstyle also looks a lot better with curly hair but ehh it works for straight hair too.

Zebra Glitz Nails
The finished product and a real finger nail :O
Track
Okay, so this year I want to join track at my school. Well, actually I'm already on the team. YAY! But let me tell you something, IT IS HARD WORK. Every 2 days in a weeks my team and I meet at a park and run a lot. My coach is there too. It is really fun to get sweaty and tired but know what you just accomplished. We run for around 2 hours and 30 minutes (with breaks) and then go home and take a shower. Running is so fun and good for you too. Okay some of you might think that running is boring and yeah I can see your point. But, its nice to know what you can do. For example, my team and I run a .6 mile track a couple of times and a .8 mile track occasionally. I would've never known I could run that long without trying. Its really fascinating in what we are when we try and when we don't. I guess it's like a Christian life. When we dont try and are not motivated in knowing God, then we would never know what God has in store for us. We have to let Jesus into our lives. That has kind of been my goal this year. To reach out to God so He can work in my life. Whether it is joining praise team or simply reading the bible. How could we know what it's like to live with Jesus when we are not letting Him in? How could I know my capability of running if I'm a coach potato? It is all connected my friends. The first step in being obedient with God is getting baptized. I decided to make that decision this year on Easter Sunday. It was definitely the right decision to publicly announce my love for Christ. Wow I went off in a tangent! But, that is what has been on my mind recently so there you have it :)

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Rabbit Style
Now, the story of crazy rabbit is one to remember for the rest of your life. Hmm... I kind of forgot it but my family always called me rabbit because I was really white and soft when I was little. Anyways, now, I am still a rabbit. I think it was in the car when I did something crazy and Chubster was like ... WAIT NO! I remember. I was taking a nap in the car and I was woken up by Cbubster who kept opening my eye lids. She left me alone for a while and I continued "fake sleeping" then I all of a sudden opened my eyes and started saying "jah jah jah jah jah" And she was all like "Huh? You crazy rabbit!" I'm not sure how the illustration of the crazy rabbit became but I am definitely sure it was the best one I made.

Sushi Nails!
This here my friends is the first ever sushi nails. I did them for Chubster for her birthday! Cute little onigiris, sushi rolls, and shrimp on rice neatly planted on her nails. If you want the instructions, just post a comment. Haha yeah they aren't that neat. I also don't really have a range of colors (as you can see with the purple). A trick I used is with a toothpick and bobby pin for the eyes or detailed stuff like the shrimp lines or faces. Yeah the faces, I rushed them because we had to leave someplace :( I also mixed some drops of colors like the shrimp. I mixed a skin peach color with very little hot pink and got a more bolder color. I LOVE the onigiris though! They are so fat and actually the easiest to d out of all the nails. If you want, you could make all of your nails onigiris! Yup, so thats all I got to say and remember, if you want the instructions just leave a comment :)
Soooo Typical
